Clint Van Marrewijk
Clint is our CEO, and he’s an ex-mechanical engineer and farmer, that somehow ended-up building software for a living.
In his spare time he likes to read books and build things. He is also a full stack developer (of pancakes) and he’s a keen squash player of mediocre ability.
Mike leads the ThunderMaps business in Europe. Mike is an experienced entrepreneur, marketer and former journalist. Mike understands business process design and is passionate about technology that improves public authority to citizen relationships.
Victoria is one of our board members and she is the Managing Director of Optimal BI. Victoria is all about growth growth growth, and she has led the charge in taking OptimalBI from a one-man band to a multi million revenue company. Victoria’s vast experience makes her the perfect fit for ThunderMaps.
John-Daniel Trask has joined as director to help strategically shape and guide the company during this period of rapid growth. JD is a familiar and influential face in New Zealand high-tech industry. Co-founder of Mindscape in 2007, JD has managed the business extremely successfully, now with customers in over 100 countries.
Bianca advises ThunderMaps, and she is is also a successful business woman in her own right. Bianca specialises in Europe to Australasia legal advice, for innovative businesses, with a focus on commercial and international contracts relating to IT.
Blair loves to sail, which means that windy-Wellington is the perfect place for the US native to relocate. Other than hitting the ocean, of particular interest to Blair includes advancing truly effective CEOs and Boards, creating extraordinary customer experience, and realizing innovation results.
Mel’s passions include anything to do with good food and wine – which makes New Zealand her perfect place to call home.
Mel is a truly awesome Client Manager, with a background that spans over 25 years working in the UK and New Zealand, predominately in Sales & Marketing.
Nicky is passionate about people and technology.
What gets Nicky up everyday is the discovery of meeting new people and being introduced to amazing technologies that makes life simple.

Rafael dos Santos
Rafael is full stack developer. He was also the very first person to work for ThunderMaps during its early early beginnings. He has come back now, after a long hiatus, and we are delighted to have him again. Curious and dedicated, he likes to read great books in his spare time, ranging from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy to things like medical textbooks…. yes, medical textbooks.
Chris is also a great communicator, which makes him ideal for project planning sessions.
Shannon helps ThunderMaps develop and execute front-end development strategies and code. Whether it’s design or CSS – Shannon knows how to get the job done!
He loves fishing and diving and he is an absolutely fantastic cook.
Hugh is a Senior Business Associate with ThunderMaps and does everything from maintaining company compliance, sales and client on boarding, to ensuring we operate as a responsible business. Hugh loves rugby, and cars, and takes a keen interest in design – an early adopter of 3d printing… he builds things, great things.
Chris has worked with design studios throughout the UK and Ireland, as a developer: back end and front end, and as lead designer. With a knowledge of print and interactive design he creates and implements the design process from start to finish.
Chris is from Northern Ireland, loves art, travel, writing and hates the term ‘that can’t be done’.
Yang is passionate about programming and technologies, he is on the way to be a full stack developer. In his spare time, he likes and keens to try any X-sports, snowboarding, skateboarding, sky diving… or just enjoy good movies and a cup of tea.
Daniel the master developer spends most of his time making sure ThunderMaps can handle the ever increasing amounts of data that is being added. Outside of work he plays several instruments (but is master of none), and enjoys going for walks and catching Pokémon…
